The Story Behind Wealth Foods Crayfish
As a little girl, some of my best memories were the holidays spent with my grandmother in Aba. Every time my siblings and I visited, we looked forward to her cooking because Grandma made the most unforgettable soups — Oha, Egusi, Bitterleaf, Nsala… every meal tasted special.
One day, I asked her,
“Mma, why is your soup always so sweet?”
She smiled and replied, “Na crayfish dey make am sweet.”
That answer stayed with me. I began to watch her closely — the way she carefully handpicked the crayfish, sun-dried it, and pounded it before adding it to her cooking. It wasn't just an ingredient; it was the secret behind the rich, authentic taste we all loved.
Years later, when I ventured into the food business, I realized people were still going through the same stress of sorting, drying, and blending crayfish just to enjoy that perfect taste at home. That childhood memory inspired the birth of Wealth Foods Crayfish.
